Our 2007 Hoosier Horse Fair was a great
success! With our Kentucky Mountain horses shining, and with smiles
on our faces, we really showed what these horses can
do.
On Stallion Row, we had two representatives -
Master’s Blue Gusto, owned by Harrison and Bobbie Harden of Clay
City, Indiana and and Kilimanjaro, owned by Dan and Judy Hart of
Stilesville, Indiana.
On Demo Row, were “Dancer’s Rainmaker”, owned
by Dale and Onvetta Herrin of Coatesville, Indiana and
“Stormin Hoss”, owned by Jerry and Rosie Morgan of Danville,
Indiana.
Among the many highlights of the weekend were:
Harrison backing out of the arena, smiling and tipping his hat to
the crowd. Kilimanjaro showing that the Kentucky Mountain horse can
canter (a myth asked about constantly- these horses cannot canter).
Jill Horn carried a wineglass filled with water
on “Dancer’s Rainmaker” on Friday and Saturday, and didn’t spill a
single drop! Jason Cagle on “Stormin Hoss” showed the speed and
action of which we are so proud.
Harrison Harden had a very busy weekend, as not
only was his stallion on Stallion Row, but he performed each day
with our Drill Team. And, what a sight to behold! Six beautiful
horses (three of them stallions), with flags waving in the breeze,
doing maneuvers and strutting their stuff. With many smiles and
applause, all present were impressed and went away to ask more about
the Kentucky Mountain Horse.
On Sunday, when the Cowboy Prayer was read,
Dancer’s Rainmaker bowed his head and said his prayers, too.
Under quickly darkening skies, we loaded up to
head home Sunday evening. Very tired and happy, with questions asked
and answered, glad this year was such a success. Soon, we will begin
to make plans for 2008.
A special” Thank You” to all the members of the
IM-KMSHA who came to help and support everyone. Way to go!!!
