by Mary Marshall The Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse has become a new and exciting venture for equestrians Jim and Judy Leek of Gobbler Roost Ranch in Cedar Creek, Texas. The Leek’s own and promote a string of exciting show horses and stallions that are boarded and trained at Prince Albert Stables in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.
J.T.’s Pride, a dark chocolate stallion with a flax mane and tail, is a member of the prestigious Leek show string, and also stands at stud at Prince Albert Stables. He is currently the top five-year-old in show pleasure. The undefeated
three-year-old park mare J.L.’s All That Jazz, the undefeated
show pleasure stallion Sudden Black Flash, and The Total
Package are all members of the elite Leek show string that
resides at Prince Albert Stables.
The six-year-old stallion, Hit The Big Time, caught the eye of Jim and Judy while visiting in Monroe, Georgia, in February. They loved his size, temperament, and his wonderful gait. The Leek’s decided to purchase this magnificent stallion after talking to Wells and trainer Josh Murdock. Watch for Hit The Big Time at all the shows! "The Leek’s have outstanding horses," said Wells. "They love the natural gait, beauty, and temperament of the Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse."
