Spotted Versatility
Award to be Offered at International Grand Championship
To commemorate the
growth of Spotted Mountain Horse in the show ring, there will be a
chance to compete for the SMH Versatility Award at the Second Annual
International Grand Championship.
Any registered
SMH wishing to compete for the award will need to declare
eligibility at the show office prior to the start of the show on
Tuesday morning. A sign-up sheet will be available in the show
office and in your pre-entry packet. There are no required classes;
simply the spotted mountain horse with the most total points at the
end of the show will be awarded a trophy and a minimum of a $250
cash prize.
A complete
description of the versatility award and point distribution can be
found in your pre-entry packet - distributed in the July/August
issue of KMSH News.
In addition the SMH Futurity is
trying to get jump started for 2007. All stallions who are
nominated by December 31, 2006 will be considered as a nominated
sire for 2006 and 2007. This means any mare who is bred to a
nominated stallion in either 2006 or 2007 will have offspring who
will be eligible for the SMH Futurity. In addition Owners with 2006
weanlings or yearlings whose sires are nominated are eligible to
show at this year’s show!
The SMH weanling & yearling Futurity
classes will be held concurrently with the KMSH Futurity classes.
The horses will be judged separately. At least 3 horses for each age
division must be nominated in order to have the classes, so if you
have SMH offspring you would like to show, round up your friends and
bring them to the International Grand Championship!
For more information on the Futurity
please contact the KMSHA office 502-863-3545.
